We have finished initial development and alpha testing of our new standalone version of Ovation Job Cost Software. This version provides a full Job Cost system for tracking up to date budgets, revenue, cost, and project profits on virtually any kind of project. This also includes support for the equipment construction industry to track equipment fuel, oil, maintenance, and sub-contracts.
The Daily Report tracks all daily events and information. Employee payroll reports provide source documents for your payroll system. Rental and Equipment reports facilitate your accounts receivable invoicing. The network and web versions will allow you to track multiple projects and consolidate information to allow for company wide costing. The previous version 1.0 was a DOS based software product used by construction companies.
This version has been expanded to incorporate many new features to help you manage not only construction projects but any type of project which has daily revenues or costs. It is designed to run on Windows 2000 and XP and future O/S versions. We are planning 2 different Beta Programs over the next several months.
Beta Program I: We would be interested in immediately establishing 10 beta sites in the Victoria, B.C. Canada area. This is so that we can help test sites get the software installed and configured. Our office is located in Victoria.
Beta Program II: Once Program I is complete we would be interested in establishing 100 Beta sites anywhere in North America. We may consider other locations, however, we will only be able to provide phone support between 10:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. Pacific Standard Time Monday to Fridays. Our email and online forum service will be available 24 hours a day. We also only are able to work in English language.
In order to receive the Beta Program benefits, testers will have to install, configure, and use the software for a 2 to 3 month period and provide sufficient feedback to identify and fix any problems encountered. Beta Program members will receive all Beta versions of the Standalone version.. The final Commercial Software and User Manual will be emailed to you free of charge when the software is commercially released. We will also provide free updates to Beta testers for a 1 year period. You will have the opportunity to use and test the software well before it is commercially available. You will also have the opportunity to influence the final shape of the product. Although we have specific goals for this version, we are open to your suggestions for additional features and reports. We will poll the Beta Group and if sufficient interest is shown and we can fit your additions in the development time frame, then we will attempt to include them.
All Beta sites will be required to fill in and return at least one questionnaire in regards to their hardware configuration and Beta testing results in order to receive the final commercial release.
All Beta Sites will be required to sign a confidentiality agreement and may not show or distribute the Beta versions of the software
Note that all Beta versions have a built in time out and will only operate until 1 month after the release of the commercial version.
No Beta Program Fee
We do not charge a Beta fee but would appreciate only companies serious about testing apply. We will discontinue the beta software distribution to any companies not participating at a reasonable level in the testing. We reserve the right to cancel the Beta Program at any time.
